The ADP Employment Report showed that there were 271,000 job creations in the month of December, which was nearly 100,000 better than expectations of 175,000. Tempering the report slightly was a negative revision in November of 22,000, bringing that reading down from 179,000 to 157,000, but today’s report was still extremely strong. Within the report, ADP did say that the busy holiday season greatly impacted both the trade and leisure and hospitality sectors, as well as small businesses. While this report was solid, things may start to slow a bit in 2019.
