Consumer Price Index (November 2023)
Declining energy prices helped keep a lid on inflation last month, as annual CPI fell to 3.1%, well below 2022’s 9.1% peak. Annual Core CPI (which removes food and energy prices) also reached a 2-year low of 4.0%, again below last year’s 6.6% peak. Given this progress on inflation, expect the Fed to pause rate hikes once again at this week’s meeting. #cpi #inflation #mbshighway #mbssocialshare #mortgagemarketnews #mortgageintheknow
